Welcome to Oldsmar Elementary School! Home of the Owls. I am excited to begin this new year of teaching and learning with you and your scholars. Every new school year brings about the promise of great things that are to come. At Oldsmar Elementary, we pride ourselves on setting high expectations for both our teachers and scholars and providing a nurturing environment to create the best educational experiences possible for every scholar.

This year our number one focus will be on the implementation of the rigorous Florida BEST Standards in all of our classrooms, but we also believe it is important to remember the human element of education....the importance of building lasting relationships with the children, families and the community we serve. It is this relationship that is critical to the success of all our scholars. I am confident that this new year will bring many opportunities for our school community to grow closer together. Remember, at Oldsmar Elementary, learning is a family affair.

Shawn Saunders

My name is Shawn Saunders, and I am honored to serve as your Assistant Principal.

With more than 20 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of supporting students and families in a variety of roles, including teacher, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher, Behavior Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, and district administrator. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping every student feel supported, valued, and successful.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and a certification in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about building positive relationships, creating a welcoming school environment, and working alongside teachers and staff to help students reach their full potential.

My goal is to ensure that all students achieve academic success while developing confidence, character, and a love for learning. Whether in elementary school, where the foundation for lifelong learning is built, or in middle school, where students grow in independence and responsibility, I believe every child deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

I am excited to partner with our students, families, and staff to make this school year a positive and rewarding experience. I look forward to getting to know you and celebrating all the great things we will accomplish together!
